Section 21
Abandonment After Feasibility Period
Within twelve (12) months from the date of completion of feasibility work on a site, if the contractor decides not to apply for a production permit for such site and does not abandon the area containing such site and the contractor's reason for not applying for a production permit, (1) another to commercialize the site; If it becomes necessary to jointly develop the site or, (2) delay in determining the export market for the petroleum of the site discovered in the contract area (including the arrangement of necessary facilities and infrastructure between the border of Nepal and the FOB center for delivery to buyers outside Nepal) Apart from that, the Government of Nepal can order the contractor to abandon such area. Within thirty (30) days of receiving such an order, the contractor shall vacate the area including the site. The area thus abandoned shall be in accordance with Section 9 and shall be included in the mandatory abandonment as specified in Section 6.
